Mentera, an independent, not-for-profit company dedicated to empowering Welsh businesses, is looking for a Head of Commercial Development to join its Leadership Team.

With a committed workforce of c.170 individuals working across five offices in Wales, Menter a Busnes offers consultancy services, expert commercial support, and fosters collaborative networks across various sectors. Operating on a pan-Wales basis, with additional reach into the UK and Europe, the company upholds excellence with ISO9001 accreditation, ensuring the highest standards in its services.

There aren’t many businesses that can do what Menter a Busnes does, but that won’t
matter if it’s not ‘out there’ winning new business and building strong and resilient partnerships.

The new Head of Commercial Development will play a leading role developing and delivering a Commercial Growth Plan and will work to identify and develop new strategic partnerships, programmes and project opportunities. In this role, you will be empowered to create and develop consultancy services, products and solutions, win and deliver short-term special projects and champion a more socially and environmentally responsible way of doing business.

With a commitment to quality, customer focused services, you will have:
 

  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills, particularly in relation to prospecting, networking, pitching, contracting and consulting.
  • A successful track record as a senior manager, including specific experience of project management and the delivery of consultancy services.
  • Evidence of using personal influence to improve and innovate project delivery and consultancy service performance, particularly in upskilling and coaching colleagues.
  • Evidence of tendering for government-sponsored projects and programmes which are commissioned at national, devolved, regional and/or local level.
