The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is the governing body of football in Wales and is responsible for promoting and developing the game at all levels from grass roots through to the professional game, including the Welsh Premier League and all International Teams. The FAW is a Limited Company responsible for the development of football in Wales.  The FAW established the FAW Trust, a charity with responsibility, under licence, to manage certain activities for the FAW. With over 100 full time staff and operating in over 50 countries, it has doubled group turnover in the past 5 years to £20m per annum.

The FAW is looking for a Head of People to assist the leadership team in delivering the vision and strategic objectives by effectively facilitating the recruitment and development of outstanding people and supporting the leadership team in the management of their teams’ individual and collective performance. This is a new role, crucial to the continued development of the FAW and ensuring that the organisation has the right structure and size as it continues its transformation.

The Head of People will be responsible for ensuring the FAW is fully compliant with all employment and other HR policies and procedures both up-to-date and available transparently online, and that effective and data compliant systems are in place and used to deliver a suite of reports for the Executive Leadership Team on people-related matters.

The Role

  • A strategic advisor to the CEO and the FAW Board and Senior Management Team (SMT), you will lead in the in creation a vision and strategy for HR and People Development, and work collaboratively with the team to achieve the strategies and support the overall delivery of the FAW’s business objectives.
  • Acting as FAW’s professional lead on all people matters, by overseeing all HR and payroll processes, you will provide expert advice on complex casework, performance, attendance, reward and employee relations issues, as well as providing expert HR guidance on TUPE matters, team structures and change management issues, and lead on People aspects of change processes.
  • You will coach and support managers in creating organisational effectiveness, ensuring the FAW’s people practices are market-leading, in-line with business objectives and reflective of its values, and legally compliant.
  • You will also represent the FAW at a range of public events and meetings, sometimes during antisocial hours and weekends, establishing and maintaining excellent relationships internally and externally with other Governing Bodies, UEFA and FIFA.

 The Person

  • With proven, extensive experience in a senior HR professional role, you will possess excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, and be experienced in managing TUPE and restructuring activities.

  • Possessing a 'can do’ attitude with the ability to solve problems and make informed decisions and challenge appropriately, you will maintain the highest standard of oral and written communication skills.

  • You will have a proven track record of successfully managing upwards and downwards, an ability to multi-task, good planning & organisational skills, as well as experience with budget development and management.

  • Desirable qualifications and abilities include HR qualification at Level 5 or above; CIPD membership; coaching qualification; Welsh language skills; appropriate IT competencies; and a full driving licence.

Cymdeithas Bêl-droed Cymru (CBDC) yw’r corff sy’n llywodraethu pêl-droed yng Nghymru ac mae’n gyfrifol am hyrwyddo a datblygu’r gêm ar bob lefel, o lawr gwlad hyd at y gêm broffesiynol, gan gynnwys Uwch Gynghrair Cymru a phob Tîm Rhyngwladol. Mae CBDC yn Gwmni Cyfyngedig sy'n gyfrifol am ddatblygu pêl-droed yng Nghymru. Sefydlodd CBDC Ymddiriedolaeth CBDC, elusen sy’n gyfrifol, dan drwydded, am reoli gweithgareddau penodol ar ran CBDC. Gyda dros 100 o staff llawn amser, a gan weithredu mewn dros 50 o wledydd, mae wedi dyblu trosiant grŵp yn y 5 mlynedd diwethaf i £20 miliwn y flwyddyn.

Mae CBDC yn chwilio am Bennaeth Pobl i gynorthwyo’r Tîm Arwain i wireddu’r weledigaeth a’r amcanion strategol trwy hwyluso recriwtio a datblygu pobl ragorol yn effeithiol, a chefnogi'r tîm arwain i reoli perfformiad unigol a chyfunol. Mae hon yn rôl newydd, sy'n hanfodol i ddatblygiad parhaus CBDC ac i sicrhau bod gan y sefydliad y strwythur a'r maint cywir wrth iddo barhau i drawsnewid.

Bydd y Pennaeth Pobl yn gyfrifol am sicrhau bod CBDC yn cydymffurfio'n llawn â'r holl bolisïau a gweithdrefnau cyflogaeth ac Adnoddau Dynol (AD) eraill, a’u bod oll yn gyfredol ac ar gael yn dryloyw ar-lein. Bydd hefyd yn gyfrifol am sicrhau bod systemau effeithiol sy'n cydymffurfio o ran data ar waith, ac yn cael eu defnyddio i ddarparu cyfres o adroddiadau ar gyfer y Tîm Arwain Gweithredol ar faterion yn ymwneud â phobl.

Y Rôl

  • Bod yn gynghorydd strategol i'r Prif Swyddog Gweithredol, Bwrdd CBDC a’r Uwch Dîm Rheoli. Byddwch yn arwain ar greu gweledigaeth a strategaeth ar gyfer AD a Datblygu Pobl, ac yn cydweithio gyda'r tîm i gyflawni'r strategaethau a chefnogi'r gwaith o gyflawni amcanion busnes CBDC.
  • Byddwch yn gweithredu fel arweinydd proffesiynol CBDC ar yr holl faterion pobl, gan oruchwylio pob proses AD a chyflogres (payroll). Byddwch yn darparu cyngor arbenigol ar waith achos cymhleth, perfformiad, presenoldeb, gwobrwyo a materion cysylltiadau gweithwyr, yn ogystal â darparu canllawiau AD arbenigol ar faterion Rheoliadau Trosglwyddo Ymgymeriadau (Diogelu Cyflogaeth) (TUPE), strwythurau tîm a materion rheoli newid, ac arwain ar agweddau Pobl ar brosesau newid.
  • Byddwch yn hyfforddi ac yn cefnogi rheolwyr i greu sefydliad effeithiol, gan sicrhau bod arferion pobl CBDC ar flaen y gad, yn unol ag amcanion busnes, yn adlewyrchu ei gwerthoedd, ac yn cydymffurfio â'r gyfraith.
  • Byddwch hefyd yn cynrychioli CBDC mewn ystod o gyfarfodydd a digwyddiadau cyhoeddus, gan sefydlu a chynnal perthnasoedd cadarn yn fewnol ac yn allanol gyda Chyrff Llywodraethu eraill, UEFA a FIFA.

  • Bydd gennych hanes profedig o reoli i fyny ac i lawr yn llwyddiannus, y gallu i ymgymryd â mwy nag un dasg ar y tro, sgiliau cynllunio a threfnu da, yn ogystal â phrofiad o ddatblygu a rheoli cyllideb.
  • Mae’r cymwysterau a’r galluoedd dymunol yn cynnwys cymhwyster AD Lefel 5 neu uwch; aelodaeth CIPD; cymhwyster hyfforddi; sgiliau Cymraeg; cymwyseddau Technoleg Gwybodaeth priodol a thrwydded yrru lawn.
