Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales is looking to employ a Director of Business Development. Wales’ much loved and award-winning organisation is on an exciting journey of transformational change.

A Welsh Government Sponsored Body and a registered charity which has 8 sites across Wales, Amgueddfa Cymru’s work is based on the principle that culture is created by people and communities. Its collections and other resources come from the society it is a part of and are continually renewed through its work with the public. The Museum is accountable for its use of these resources to Wales.

Cultural democracy underpins the work of Amgueddfa Cymru. This was recognised nationally in 2019 when St Fagans National Museum of History was awarded the prestigious Art Fund Museum of the Year prize for demonstrating exceptional innovation, imagination and achievement, and was described as ‘a monument to modern museum democracy’.

Amgueddfa Cymru’s Vision is ‘Inspiring People, Changing Lives’. It is strongly committed to widening opportunities for everyone in Wales. As the home of Wales’s national collections, the Museum is creating a national memory and record of the lived experiences of everyone in Wales.  We are building upon a new model of community involvement and participation through the services it offers and the learning and creativity that it inspires.
