Social Care Wales has a responsibility to protect, promote and maintain the safety and well-being of the public in Wales. An integral part of the Welsh public service and a sponsored body of Welsh Government with a budget of c.£20m and a workforce of 125, its approach is focused on good outcomes for people, and the social care and early years workforce. To achieve this, it focuses on 3 strategic aims: providing public assurance, developing the workforce, and leading and supporting improvement. It is seeking a Director of Regulation (Registrar) to join its Executive Management Team and play a key strategic role in the planning and delivery of the organisation’s work during a crucial time.
Reporting to the Chief Executive as the Registrar of Social Care Wales, you will drive a high performing regulatory framework based on effective and efficient processes and continuous improvement, and through internal collaboration and building external partnerships. You will work with the Executive Management Team to provide cross organisational leadership in the development and delivery of Social Care Wales’ strategic aims and priorities.
You will lead and develop a Directorate of c.50 individuals, to deliver the organisation’s strategic aims; driving excellence, efficiency, integrity, compliance and quality. You will lead the development of the Social Care Wales strategic plan and on the implementation of workforce improvement and development activities in line with the organisation’s purpose, values and vision.
You will influence and shape the legislative and policy direction of social care in Wales, UK and internationally, and drive up standards in regulation through working with Welsh Government, UK and international regulators and other key stakeholders.

Byddwch yn gweithio gyda’r Tîm Rheoli Gweithredol i ddarparu arweiniad ar draws y sefydliad ar ddatblygu a chyflawni nodau a blaenoriaethau strategol Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru.
Byddwch yn arwain a datblygu Cyfarwyddiaeth o tua 50 o unigolion, i gyflawni nodau strategol y sefydliad; sbarduno rhagoriaeth, effeithlonrwydd, uniondeb, cydymffurfiaeth ac ansawdd. Byddwch yn arwain y gwaith o ddatblygu cynllun strategol Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru ac ar y gwaith o weithredu gweithgareddau gwella a datblygu yn unol â diben, gwerthoedd a gweledigaeth y sefydliad.
Byddwch yn dylanwadu ar ac yn llywio cyfeiriad deddfwriaethol a pholisi gofal cymdeithasol yng Nghymru, yn y DU ac yn rhyngwladol, ac yn codi safonau rheoleiddio drwy weithio gyda rheoleiddwyr Llywodraeth Cymru, y DU a rhyngwladol a rhanddeiliaid allweddol eraill.
